In 2017, the Denver Broncos had a carousel of Quarterbacks that served to be more of a circus than a group capable of leading an already championship caliber team to the next level.
Looking ahead, the most obvious decision is for the Broncos front office to hunt down a veteran in free agency. Names that have stood out are Kirk Cousins, Case Keenum and Nick Foles. The Broncos would jump at the chance to sign Cousins given the opportunity, though he may be on the market for elite money that the Broncos don’t have at the moment.
Of course, releasing and trading some big names is an option and seems the most likely scenario. Case Keenum is the “Plan B” John Elway never likes to mention and Foles could be a wild card at this stage.
Denver has the fifth overall pick in the upcoming draft, so that is an obvious route as well. Elway has drafted a Quarterback in the first round recently however and may not be quick to pull the trigger on another that early. I believe the Broncos will be strong contenders for Cousins’ services in 2018 and will look to draft a starter caliber Tackle early in the draft. Trading down in the first could be on the horizon as well.
